Bernie Sanders Rips Media for Obsessive Donald Trump Coverage

Bernie Sanders called out the media on Thursday for obsessive coverage of Donald Trump while covering him scarcely.

In an interview with CNN’s Chris Cuomo, Sanders claimed the media is “not so interested in the serious issues facing this country” and prefers “bombastic” and “silly” remarks.

“So I think this is more of an indictment of the media, actually, than it is of Trump,” the Vermont senator continued.

Sanders, who’s leading Hillary Clinton in New Hampshire polls, also lambasted the evening news broadcasts for what he characterized as the severely unbalanced amount of coverage they’ve collectively given Trump over him.

“Explain to me how a major network on the evening news has 81 minutes of Trump, 20 seconds of Bernie Sanders. Does that make sense to anybody?”

As TheWrap reported, the media hasn’t covered Sanders much considering he’s made railing against corporate greed — which includes media conglomerates — a hallmark of his campaign.

“And I would urge and beg the media to allow us to have that debate and not just pick up on Trump’s one-liners.”
