‘Better Call Saul’ Season 4 Trailer: Jimmy Is Up to No Good, Gus Has Scores to Settle (Video)

“You know why God made snakes before lawyers? He needed the practice”

Jimmy McGill clearly doesn’t handle unemployment well.

In the “Better Call Saul” Season 4 trailer, Jimmy (Bob Odenkirk) dons a tracksuit while he waits out the 10 months before he can practice law again, but it’s pretty clear that he’s killing time by being up to no good ahead of his inevitable metamorphosis to Saul Goodman.

“You know why God made snakes before lawyers?” Jimmy says in the trailer, above. “He needed the practice.”

He then tries to convince Kim Wexler (Rhea Seehorn) that after “strictly gainful employment, in 10 months, poof, I’m a lawyer again,” but she doesn’t seem too convinced.

In the show’s other storyline, Mike Ehrmantraut (Jonathan Banks) is beefing with someone offscreen: “Why don’t you stop running a game on me and just tell me about the job,” he said.

As for Gus Fring (Giancarlo Esposito), he seems ready to serve up some justice of his own, as he’s seen in the back of a car ominously saying “I decide what he deserves.”

Nacho (Michael Mando) and Leonel (Daniel Moncada) and Marco Salamanca (Luis Moncada) — the nephews of Hector Salamanca and cousin of Tuco — also appear in the 30-second clip.

We’re left with a few gunshots and a bloody scene at the end of the trailer as Jimmy cheerfully asks Kim to wish him luck — once he’s out of the tracksuit.

“Better Call Saul” Season 4 premieres on AMC on August 6.
