Amy Winehouse’s Father Disses Beyonce, Andre 3000’s ‘Back to Black’ Cover for ‘Gatsby’

The Beyonce and Andre 3000 cover is part of the highly anticipated soundtrack to "The Great Gatsby"

Amy Winehouse's father took to Twitter to voice his displeasure with the cover of his daughter's "Back to Black," by Beyonce and Andrew 3000.

"Just heard the Andre part of Back to Black. Terrible. He should have let Beyonce do it all," Mitch Winehouse tweeted.

Mitch had previously expressed dissatisfaction with the whole song being redone for "The Great Gatsby," saying, "They have got to pay for the privilege, which is what they are doing. I can’t tell you how much it is but it’s a lot of money."

The original producer of the song, Mark Ronson, premiered the cover on EastVillageRadio.com this weekend. And it's… an interesting interpretation.

Ronson called the song "a wonderful sort of take."

"I’m flattered and honoured. I know Amy would be too," he said.

The soundtrack for the upcoming F. Scott Fitzgerald novel adaptation comes courtesy of Jay-Z, so naturally Beyonce was going to be a part of the project. Other artists on the soundtrack, which has thus far been released in snippets, include Lana Del Ray, The xx, and Florence + The Machine.

"The Great Gatsby," which stars Leonardo DiCaprio in the title role and features Carey Mulligan and Tobey Maguire, hits cinemas May 10. The soundtrack will be available digitally and as a 17-track deluxe edition exclusively at Target on Tuesday, May 7.

Below is a heavily-tagged radio rip of the song from Ronson's radio station. Give it a listen — do you like it more than Mitch Winehouse does?
