Can You Feel the Love? Listen to Beyonce and Donald Glover Duet on in New ‘The Lion King’ TV Spot (Video)

The voices of Nala and Simba sing “Can You Feel The Love Tonight”

Fans are hearing Beyonce Knowles-Carter and Donald Glover singing in character for the first time in a new TV spot for Disney’s star-studded remake of “The Lion King.”

The 30-second spot, released Thursday, opens with the chorus of “Can You Feel The Love Tonight.” Knowles-Carter and Glover, who voice Nala and Simba, harmonize over a scaled-back instrumental.

The characters’ soft voices are soon joined by James Earl Jones’ dialogue as Mufasa, and continue under his message to Simba. The updated version of “The Lion King” also features voice acting from John Oliver, Billy Eichner, Seth Rogen and Chiwetel Ejiofor, among others.

“Can You Feel the Love Tonight” was composed for the original 1994 film by Elton John with lyrics by Tim Rice. The song won the Oscar for Best Original Song in 1995, and John won the Grammy for Best Male Pop Vocal Performance.

Jon Favreau is directing the live-action remake of the animated classic, which opens in theaters July 19.
