Bill Maher Shares Marijuana Cake With Roger Stone (Video)

Trump’s former adviser quotes Bible verse as reason to be pro-pot

Russian influence in American politics and Intelligence Committee closed door secrets aside, there is one thing Bill Maher and his opening guest, Roger Stone, concurred on during Friday night’s “Real Time” – weed.

“There’s an issue we agree on – marijuana. You think Jeff Sessions is wrong…” Maher began, only for Stone to interrupt, saying, “completely wrong.”

Maher continued, “…to be such a hard ass on marijuana. Is that because you yourself are a Roger Stoner?”

“Only when I’m in the states where it’s legal. Candidate Trump said we should let the states decide. He was absolutely right,” the outspoken Libertarian whom Maher affectionately (or maybe not) calls “Trump’s albino assassin” answered without skipping a beat.

Stone, who served as adviser to the 2016 Trump presidential campaign, wrote an article for StoneColdTruth.com Friday on the topic of legalizing marijuana that was directed right at the POTUS. It’s title: “Mr. President: Marijuana Is a States Rights Issue.”

In the piece, Stone references both the Bible and Thomas Jefferson as reasons to give weed a thumbs up:

“As a product of the Religious South, it is natural that AG [Jeff] Sessions would take the dimmest view of marijuana, but there is little room left for debate as to the origin of the marijuana prohibition laws and how they were formulated as a tool to bludgeon both the poor and minorities, the largest consumers of the formerly legal plant,” Stone wrote. “Perhaps Attorney General Sessions has forgotten his Genesis from the Old Testament:

“I give you every seed-bearing plant on the face of the whole earth and every tree that has fruit with seed in it. They will be yours for food.”    Genesis 1:29

“Or,” Stone continued in the op-ed, “perhaps he was never familiar with some of the lessor known quotes of Thomas Jefferson:”

“If the people let government decide what foods they eat and what medicines they take, their bodies will soon be in as sorry a state as are the souls of those who live under tyranny.”    Thomas Jefferson

Jeff Sessions states his position plainly: “Good people don’t smoke marijuana.”  This plainly false statement, made in all earnestness, clearly demonstrates how far from the mainstream Sessions is on this topic.”

Back on “Real Time,” Maher noted that Friday was their 420th episode – 420 famously being slang for smoking wacky tabaccy. Taking advantage of the occasion, and his receptive guest, Maher had a “special” cake to mark the occasion.

“I need to get high. Where’s the… Roger, will you bring out the cake?” Maher shouted to the wings. Stone carried out a white cake with giant confectionery marijuana leaf decorating it.

“We’re going to share this after the show, Roger,” Maher said with a smile. “I know you say you’re not a stoner… this cake is completely baked with pot. It is totally edible. Gentlemen, may I cut you a piece?”
