Bill Maher Says Trump Is Grosser ‘Creep’ Than Harvey Weinstein Due to Call to Gold Star Widow (Video)

HBO host strays a bit far with his analogy

Bill Maher strayed a bit far with the opening analogy in his Friday night monologue, suggesting that President Donald Trump was a fatter, grosser “creep” than disgraced Hollywood mogul Harvey Weinstein.

“On Monday, Trump called the pregnant widow of a dead American soldier to console her and ended up pouring salt in the wound and feuding with her all week. Who knew empathy was so complicated?” Maher began his monologue on HBO’s “Real Time” Friday.

“I mean, if you could take a week where it was revealed that Harvey Weinstein sexually assaulted every single female in show business and still be the worst fat, gross creep, that’s pretty good.”

Maher spent a good deal of time criticizing Trump for his reported comments to the widow of Sgt. La David Johnson, a special forces soldier killed at the border of Niger and Mali earlier this month.

He also ripped into White House Chief of Staff John Kelly, a former general who defended the president during a press briefing on Thursday.

“General Kelly laments a short list of things that — in his youth — he said he always thought would be sacred, but no longer are: women, Gold Star families,” Maher said. “Now, if you’ll excuse me, I have to go back to defending my boss, the p—y-grabber who insults war widows.”

The host also tweaked right-wing media for their zealous coverage of Weinstein, who was fired from The Weinstein Company following multiple allegations of sexual misconduct.

“Not that he isn’t a horrible sleaze, Harvey Weinstein, but the right-wing media frenzy, I tell you the men of Fox News are like, ‘Those of us who are left here are outraged,’” Maher joked.
