‘Black Mirror’ Season 5: Andrew Scott Is the World’s Worst Uber Driver in ‘Smithereens’ Teaser (Video)

New season of anthology series debuts June 5

Netflix is teasing more of its three-episode (yes, just three) fifth season of techno-dystopia anthology “Black Mirror,” releasing individual teasers for each episode.

You can watch the video above for “Smithereens,” which features “Fleabag” and “Sherlock” star Andrew Scott. The minute-long teaser features Scott as an Uber driver that we bet doesn’t have a high rating. (Pointing a gun at your fare definitely falls under the “needs improvement” category.)

Here is the logline, courtesy of Netflix: “A cab driver with an agenda becomes the center of attention on a day that rapidly spirals out of control.” Along with Scott, the episode stars Damson Idris and Topher Grace.

Last week, Netflix dropped a full-length trailer for the three-episode season, which also features Miley Cyrus (who revealed this news herself, by the way), Anthony Mackie, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Nicole Beharie, Pom Klementieff, Ludi Lin, Angourie Rice and Madison Davenport.

Readers can see trailers for Cyrus’ episode here and Mackie’s episode here.

Per Netflix, “‘Black Mirror’ is an anthology series that taps into our collective unease with the modern world, with each stand-alone episode a sharp, suspenseful tale exploring themes of contemporary techno-paranoia leading to an unforgettable – and sometimes unsettling – conclusion. Without questioning it, technology has transformed all aspects of our lives; in every home; on every desk; in every palm – a plasma screen; a monitor; a Smartphone – a ‘Black Mirror’ reflecting our 21st Century existence back at us.”

Charlie Brooker created the series and writes, executive producing alongside Annabel Jones.

“Black Mirror” will debut all three episodes of Season 5 on Wednesday, June 5
