Bob Woodward’s New Book Takes on Politics & the Economic Crisis of Obama Presidency

The two-time Pulitzer winning reporter/author's "The Price of Politics" is due on Sept. 11

First Watergate, then 9/11, now — the U.S. economy.

The next book from Bob Woodward, the two-time Pulitzer Prize-winning investigative reporter, will detail how President Obama and congressional leaders handled the economic crisis.

Simon & Schuster announced Tuesday that "The Price of Politics" would be released Sept. 11.

Woodward spent 18 months reporting his 17th book, drawing on memos, meeting notes, emails and interviews with the central players in both parties.

The book provides day-by-day, sometimes hour-by-hour accounts of the three-and-a-half year fiscal ordeal as hyperpartisan politicians dueled over how to restore economic stability.

The Washington Post — where Woodward has worked for 41 years, serves as associate editor and earned his Pulitzers — will publish an excerpt.
