Brad Paisley is set to star in “Fish Out of Water,” a half-hour comedy series in development at Amazon, an individual with knowledge of the project tells TheWrap. And this show is going to give you major “Larry Sanders” vibes just from its description — which specifically gives a shout-out to “The Larry Sanders Show.”

Here’s the logline for the project, which is produced by the singer-songwriter and Will Arnett and has received a script commitment from the streaming service: In this Larry Sanders take on celebrity vanity projects, we get a behind-the-scenes look at country music star Brad Paisley’s struggle to keep a simple little fishing show from turning into his own personal Fyre Festival.

Along with Paisley and Arnett, executive producers include AD Miles, Peter Principato, Marc Forman, Bill Simmons and Kendal Marcy.

“Fish Out of Water” hails from Sony Pictures Television, where Arnett has an overall deal.

If the comedy were ordered to series, it would mark the first series regular role for Paisley, who has previously had small parts on TV shows like “According to Jim,” “King of the Hill,” “American Dreams” and “Two and a Half Men.”

News of the project was first reported by The Hollywood Reporter.
