Kara DioGuardi Finds a New Talent Show — on Bravo, with Jewel

Series will feature former “American Idol” regular Kara DioGuardi returning to the judging table

Not only have most of the original "American Idol" judges dispersed to the wind, so has the format.

Bravo announced the green-lighting of new music-competition series "Going Platnum," which will feature singer Jewel as host and former "American Idol" regular Kara DioGuardi returning to the judging table.

Scheduled to launch in 2011 with 10 episodes, the reality-competition show — which was previously announced under the title "Hitmakers" — is already in production in Los Angeles.

"Going Platinum" will follow 12 wannabe musicians as they battle for a $100,000 cash prize and recording contracts.

"Bravo is giving viewers a front-row seat to experience the journey and aspirations of these gifted songwriters and see inside this unique creative process for the first time," said Bravo Media president Frances Berwick. "It'll be inspiring to have Jewel and Kara involved in this series as they share their experience and wisdom in the intensely competitive world of music."
