After winning two Emmys for her work on AMC’s “Breaking Bad” and a turn on Fox’s cancelled “Gracepoint,” Anna Gunn has landed the female lead in CBS’s “Criminal Minds” spinoff pilot, according to media reports.
Currently set to air as an episode in the parent series, Gunn joins Gary Sinise on an FBI team that’s been put together to help Americans who find themselves in trouble abroad.
Gunn portrays Ally Lambert, an expert in international law and multiple languages. Sinise stars as Jack Garrett, a bureau veteran in charge of the team. “The Walking Dead” and “Everybody Hates Chris” star Tyler James Williams has also been cast.
“Criminal Minds” showrunner Erica Messer will write the pilot, which is a co-production of CBS Television Studios and ABC Studios. Messer executive produces alongside Mark Gordon and Nick Pepper.
Gunn is represented by ICM Partners and MGMT Entertainment. Representatives for Gunn did not immediately respond to TheWrap’s request for comment.
