‘Breakout Kings’ Alum Jimmi Simpson Joins ‘House of Cards’ (Exclusive)

The actor will play a recurring role on the Netflix political drama's second season

Netflix is building on its "House of Cards" with the casting of Jimmi Simpson, TheWrap has learned exclusively.

The actor comes on in a recurring role on Season 2, but the mysterious role is being kept hush-hush by producers.

A Netflix representative declined to comment on the casting.

Simpson played Lloyd on A&E's "Breakout Kings" and Liam on FX's "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia." He has also guest starred on CBS's "Person of Interest," USA's "Psych" and Starz's "Party Down."

His film credits include "Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter," "Zodiac" and he's soon to be seen in "White House Down" and "Emanuel and the Truth about Fishes."

"House of Cards," which stars Kevin Spacey as a vindictive D.C. politician, helped solidify the streaming video company's push into original series. Season 2 is currently in production.
