Ratings: CBS Heads to the Top of the Class With ‘Young Sheldon’

CBS has topped the class in Thursday night ratings under the tutelage of its “Big Bang Theory” spinoff “Young Sheldon.” The half-hour comedy won in both the advertiser-coveted 18-49 demographic and total average viewership across all the networks and hours of primetime.

The broadcast network scored 0.39 in the key demo and netted 4.8 million total viewers on average, according to live plus same-day data from Nielsen. Kicking off the night at 8 p.m., “Young Sheldon” hit a 0.55 in ratings and received 6.8 million total average viewers. At 8:30 p.m. was an airing of “Ghosts,” which won its half-hour with 0.51
