Bruckheimer TV’s ‘Lost Girls’ Adaptation Finds Home at ABC

The network has given a put pilot commitment to the untitled hour-long project about a trio of globe-trotting women

ABC is getting "lost" again, as the network has given a put pilot commitment to Jerry Bruckheimer Television and Warner Bros. TV for their untitled hour-long project based on the popular blog and book "The Lost Girls," ABC has confirmed to TheWrap.

In 2006, three Manhattan women left their big city lives behind to embark on a year-long journey in search of adventure and inspiration. The trio traveled to four continents and more than a dozen countries, all while chronicling their trip on the website LostGirlsWorld.com. Eventually, they turned their tales into a travel memoir, which HarperCollins published in May.

Ildy Modrovich will write the adaptation and executive produce the project with Jonathan Littman and Bruckheimer, whom he previously worked with on "CSI: Miami" and "Eleventh Hour." KristieAnne Reed will co-exec produce.

The project is Bruckheimer TV's first sale this year and represents a significant departure for the company, though there is certainly a healthy appetite for this type of globe-trotting, femme-centric material in the marketplace.

Bruckheimer TV previously teamed with ABC on the (forgotten) series "The Forgotten" last season.

The news was first reported by Deadline.
