Joss Whedon’s ‘Cabin in the Woods’ to Open South by Southwest

Joss Whedon’s film will have its world premiere at the festival on March 9

"The Cabin in the Woods," the much-anticipated horror film produced and co-written by Joss Whedon, and directed by Drew Goddard ("Cloverfield"), will open the South by Southwest Film Conference and Festival, the festival's backers have announced.

"The Cabin in the Woods," starring Chris Hemsworth, will have its world premiere at the Austin, Texas, festival on March 9. The movie opens wide April 13.

Whedon will also participate in a panel discussion at the festival on March 10.

The initial slate for SXSW, which runs from March 9-17, has also been unveiled.
