Not even Donald Trump thinks Kentucky county clerk Kim Davis was right to deny same-sex couples marriage licenses.
“Whether you like the decision or not … you have to go along with the Supreme Court,” Trump said during an appearance on “The O’Reilly Factor” on Tuesday.
Davis was released on Wednesday after being jailed for contempt of court for refusing to issue the licenses, saying it would violate her conscience and religion. Her freedom comes with the caveat that if she continues to block her deputies from issuing licenses, she will return to jail.
Caitlyn Jenner made her own headlines this week on the subject of gay marriage when she voiced her own curious opinions on Ellen DeGeneres‘ daytime talk show. The “I Am Cait” star said she’s a “traditionalist,” when it comes to the institution, but doesn’t want to “stand in front of anybody’s happiness.”
Later on Howard Stern, a confused DeGeneres said, “You’re wanting people to understand and accept you … and you still have a judgement about gay people and marriage.”
