Caitlyn Jenner is taking the next step in her transition from male to female.

The former Olympian and “I Am Cait” star says she’s been subjected to “threats of bodily harm” during the transition, which she announced earlier this year.

Jenner revealed the threats in court papers accompanying her request to legally change her name from William Bruce Jenner to Caitlyn Marie Jenner, and her gender from male to female.

Jenner is requesting that a redacted version of her petition for a name change be made available to the public, in order to protect her privacy and safety.

“Although public support for my transition has been overwhelmingly supportive, I am also receiving unwelcome negative attention from private citizens, including threats of bodily harm,” Jenner said in a declaration filed Monday.

The redacted, public version of the petition would omit private information such as her home address, medical information, date of birth, age, Social Security number and driver’s license number.

Jenner is asking that the un-redacted version of the petition be sealed by the court.

The legal papers point out that California lawmakers have recently noted the need for heightened privacy protection for transgender individuals who are seeking a name and gender change from the court.

“The public nature of the name and gender change process exposes transgender individuals to potential, discrimination, harassment, or even violence because of being transgender,” the papers read.
