DC Comics blockbuster becomes the biggest film to get rerouted amid the pandemic

WarnerMedia is banking on an Amazonian goddess to jolt its streaming ambitions, even if it’s going to cost them financially.

Warner Bros.’ decision to give “Wonder Woman 1984” a day-and-date release in theaters and HBO Max on Christmas Day sent shockwaves throughout the film industry. The follow-up to Patty Jenkins’ 2017 hit becomes the biggest movie film so far to get rerouted to streaming amid a worsening pandemic that, despite positive vaccine news, isn’t expected to abate anytime soon.
