Brad Peyton is set to direct the film, which is being produced by Beau Flynn and co-financier Village Roadshow.
When “The Big One” strikes California, a special ops firefighter (Johnson) and his ex-wife (Gugino) must make the treacherous journey from Los Angeles to San Francisco to rescue his daughter, who will be played by “True Detective’s” breakout star Alexandra Daddario.
Gugino next stars opposite Matt Dillon in the M. Night Shyamalan series “Wayward Pines,” which will debut on Fox after “24: Live Another Day.” Her previous TV credits include “Entourage,” “Californication” and “Political Animals.”
The actress has co-starred in a string of high-profile films, including “Sin City,” “Night at the Museum,” the “Spy Kids” movies and Zack Snyder’s “Watchmen” and “Sucker Punch.” She’ll soon be seen alongside Matthew Lillard and Patrick Stewart in Stephen Belber’s indie movie, “Match.”
Gugino is represented by CAA, Untitled Entertainment and attorney Warren Dern.
