Adam Driver Recalls Last Time He Saw ‘Star Wars’ Mom Carrie Fisher (Video)

Appropriately, he was Kylo Ren and she was Princess Leia

Adam Driver spoke out about Carrie Fisher’s death for the first time publicly on Thursday’s “Late Show.”

“She burns very bright,” Driver told “Star Wars” super-fan Stephen Colbert, recalling her “great, very generous energy.”

“That was the last time I saw her, actually, was on set being Princess Leia,” the man behind the Kylo Ren mask said. That was this past summer when they wrapped up “Episode VIII.”

For those uninitiated, Ren is Leia’s son, which makes the earthly end to their personal relationship even more profound. When you consider Luke Skywalker and Darth Vader, theirs is a very messed-up galactic family.

Driver was at the CBS studio plugging upcoming film “Silence,” in which he plays a Jesuit priest who face violence and persecution when he travel to Japan to locate his mentor and propagate Catholicism. The Martin Scorsese-directed movie is out in theaters on January 13.
