Jeff Sneider, the ace casting reporter who won his early reporting chops at TheWrap, will be returning to the site as film reporter covering casting and deals, I’m thrilled to let you know.
Jeff will be taking over the Deal Central column that he anchored before heading to Variety, where he became one of the trade’s most tireless and passionate reporters on the film business.
“I once acknowledged that ‘second chances are rare in this business,’ and I’m grateful to TheWrap for believing in me and offering me this exciting opportunity,” Sneider said. “I’ve been impressed with how TheWrap has grown since I’ve been away and I look forward to returning to this top-notch team of entertainment journalists.”
We are thrilled to welcome him back and know he is eager to dig into the beat and start breaking stories. He joins what has become the smartest and most knowledgeable film reporting team on the business, including Brent Lang, Steve Pond, Lucas Shaw, Todd Cunningham and critic Alonso Duralde. Jeff will start in mid-April.
For those who are keeping track, there are a lot of exciting changes and additions to our reporting staff of late. Senior TV writer Jethro Nededog starts at TheWrap today, so keep an eye peeled for his byline and TV scoops.
Additionally, we wanted to let you know that executive editor Lisa Fung will be departing. We wish her well, and appreciate the professionalism and experience she brought to our team.
