CBS Gives Thumbs Up to A New Chuck Lorre Comedy

Network greenlights a pilot for “Mike and Molly,” which will revolve around a couple with weight issues

Comedy titan Chuck Lorre is developing another half-hour for CBS.

The network has greenlit production on a pilot for "Mike and Molly,"a multicamera sitcom to be written by "Two and a Half Men" writer Mark Roberts. Roberts and Lorre will serve as executive producers.

Roberts and Lorre have come up with an interesting plot for the show: It will revolve around a couple who both reguarly do battle with the bulge.

"Mike and Molly" will be produced via Lorre’s overall deal with Warner Bros. TV. It will begin production next year for consideration as a series on CBS’s fall 2010 schedule.

Lorre currently produces CBS’s top two comedies: "Men" and the red-hot "The Big Bang Theory."
