CBS News announced on Thursday that its foreign editor, Ingrid Ciprian-Matthews, has been promoted to vice president of news.
Ciprian-Matthews “will coordinate all day-to-day news coverage, foreign and domestic” in her new role.
The promotion was made by newish CBS News president David Rhodes.
"When I joined the organization just last month, Ingrid immediately impressed me as someone who could be a leader in our newsroom," Rhodes said in a release.
Ciprian-Matthews was previously a senior broadcast producer for “CBS Evening News,” senior producer for CBS News' foreign coverage and deputy London bureau chief for CBS News' London bureau. She joined CBS in 1993 after nine years at CNN.
