CBS is keeping “The McCarthys” in the family for at least a while longer.

The network has given an order for an additional two episodes for the freshman sitcom, bringing the full episode order so far up to 15.

The series, which stars Tyler Ritter, Laurie Metcalf, Joey McIntyre, Jimmy Dunn and Jack McGee in the story of a loud, sports-crazed family from Boston, hasn’t been a runaway ratings hit for the network.

“The McCarthys” premiered to a modest 1.9 rating/6 share in the 18-49 demographic most important to viewers, while its most recent airing drew a 1.1/4. Granted, that was Thanksgiving evening, but the episode the previous Thursday posted similar ratings with a 1.4/4.

The series was created by Brian Gallivan, on whose life the series is loosely based.
