‘Hyperdrive’ Trailer: Charlize Theron Has a Need for Speed in New Netflix Stunt-Driving Series (Video)

Theron executive produces reality show featuring the “biggest, baddest automotive obstacle course ever built”

Charlize Theron is getting her speed-freak fix in the first trailer for “Hyperdrive,” the upcoming Netflix stunt-driving series.

In the preview above, you’ll see — among other things — Theron talking about a “really badass” pink race car and then screaming her head off while taking a spin in the sweet ride.

Produced by Theron, Netflix describes “Hyperdrive” as featuring “elite street racers from around the world test their limits in supercharged custom cars on the biggest, baddest automotive obstacle course ever built.”

Here’s the official description for the show:

Daring drivers from around the world test their limits in custom cars on the biggest, baddest automotive obstacle course ever built. In this new original Netflix competition series, driving prowess, mechanical ingenuity and emotional resilience will be tested in this open invitation, build and race tournament. Many will compete but there can only be one Hyperdrive champion.
Hosted by Lindsay Czarniak, Rutledge Wood, Mike Hill and Michael Bisping, the 10-episode reality series launches Aug. 21 on Netflix.

Showrunner Aaron Catling executive produces the series along with Theron, Lloyd Braun, Chris Cowan, Beth Kono and AJ Dix.

Filmed at Kodak’s Eastman Business Park in Rochester, New York, “Hyperdrive” hails from Whalerock Industries and Denver & Delilah Productions.
