The Gaffney Chicago Medical Center’s team is going to be adding one more name to the long list of people who need their help, as “Picket Fences” alum Kathy Baker has been set as a guest star on the Season 5 premiere of “Chicago Med,” TheWrap has learned exclusively.

The Emmy winner will play Nancy Geddes, who is described as a “devoted grandmother to A+ student and joy of her life, Cameron, who also happens to be battling emotional issues.” Nancy has “bent over backwards to provide for him and raise him right, but the impact of Cameron’s condition threatens to upend the life she envisions for him.”

“Chicago Med” stars Nick Gehlfuss, Torrey DeVitto, Oliver Platt, Brian Tee, Yaya DaCosta, S. Epatha Merkerson, and Marlyne Barrett. Actors Colin Donnell and Norma Kuhling are both exiting as series regulars this season.

“Chicago Med” is executive produced by Dick Wolf, Diane Frolov, Andrew Schneider, Derek Haas, Arthur Forney, Matt Olmstead, Michael Brandt and Peter Jankowski.

The drama — part of Wolf’s “Chicago” franchise, which also includes “Chicago P.D.” and “Chicago Fire” — hails from Universal Television and Wolf Entertainment.

Best known for her Emmy-winning role on “Picket Fences,” Baker’s recent small-screen credits include Netflix’s “The Ranch” and truTV’s “I’m Sorry.”

Baker is repped by Paradigm and Berwick & Kovacik.

“Chicago Med” Season 5 premieres Wednesday, Sept. 25 at 8/7c on NBC.
