Fox wins primetime’s key demo with ”Empire,“ though NBC tops total viewers with special Wednesday ”The Voice“

Fox won another Wednesday in the key 18-49 demo with its solid combo of “Empire” and “Star,” though it was NBC that claimed primetime’s most viewers with a special “The Voice” and a pair of procedurals — including a “Chicago P.D.” beatdown of CBS’ “Criminal Minds” season finale at 10 p.m.

Running a number of reruns, ABC settled for a distant fourth place last night. The CW ended up dead last — including the Spanish-language networks — despite airing the season premiere of “The Originals.”
