R&B star Chris Brown responded to his Grammy critics on Twitter Tuesday night, but his posts were quickly taken down

Chris Brown has two simple words for those who criticized his appearance at the Grammys: F– off!

The R&B star – and Grammy winner – went on a Twitter rant Wednesday night that raised eyes across the country, only he, or his caretakers, have since deleted the posts.

The most incendiary oneread: "“HATE ALL U WANT BECUZ I GOT A GRAMMY Now! That’s the ultimate FUCK OFF.”

Journalists, musicians, female fans – and most people on Twitter – were puzzled by the Grammys’ decision to have Brown perform at the awards show. Especially when he came out for a second time.

“How dang long did they give Nicki Minaj to do whatever that was? Strange. And Chris Brown twice? I don't get it. He beat on a girl…,” country singer Miranda Lambert tweeted.

The Atlantic’s Jeffery Goldberg posted, “I don't look for the Grammys for moral clarity, but, really? Do the words 'felony assault' mean anything at all?"

"Wife beater" was trending on Twitter for part of the show.

It was shortly before the 2009 Grammys that Brown beat then-girlfriend Rihanna, who performed right before him on Sunday night.

While Brown’s success has only continued, his public standing remains a work in progress.

It seems Brown grew tired of the criticism, but don't worry, he's over it guys. "I’m so OVER everyone’s opinions.. Really!!!" he wrote.

Brown's spokesperson has not responded to a request for comment.
