Chris Hemsworth, Charlie Day in Talks to Join ‘Vacation’ Reboot

Ed Helms plays a grown-up Rusty Griswold in the update of the classic 1980s franchise

Chris Hemsworth and Charlie Day are in talks to join New Line’s reboot of classic comedy “Vacation,” an individual with knowledge of the project told TheWrap.

In the new film, Ed Helms stars as Rusty Griswold, the now adult son of Clark and Ellen Griswold (Chevy Chase and Beverly D’Angelo, respectively), who takes his own family on a road trip. Comedic hijinks ensue, much like the trips he took with his parents and sister as chronicled in 1983’s “National Lampoon’s Vacation” and its subsequent sequels. Christina Applegate plays Rusty’s wife, with Chase and D’Angelo making cameos.
