Chris Hemsworth Named CinemaCon’s ‘Male Star of Tomorrow’

‘Thor’ star will be honored at Las Vegas trade show

Chris Hemsworth will receive the “CinemaCon Male Star of Tomorrow Award,” the annual trade show announced on Thursday.

The "Thor" star isn't a household name yet, but that might change this summer with the release of the superhero epic.

Hemsworth will pick up his award on Thursday evening, March 31st at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas.

Cameron Diaz and Ryan Reynolds are also being honored as the male and female stars of the year at the same ceremony.

Born and raised in Australia, Hemsworth first appeared in the Australian television series “Home and Away.” He made his U.S. film debut in “Star Trek," and will star in the Dan Bradley remake of “Red Dawn” and the Joss Whedon & Drew Goddard scripted “Cabin in the Woods."

He'll reprise his hammer wielding role in "The Avengers."
