‘Avengers’ Star Chris Hemsworth to Make ‘SNL’ Hosting Debut

Actor will be joined in Studio 8H by Zac Brown Band, also appearing on the NBC show for the first time

Prepare yourself for Asgard jokes: Chris Hemsworth will make his “Saturday Night Live” hosting debut on March 7 with musical guest, the Zac Brown Band.

Hemsworth’s next feature-film appearances will be in “Avengers: Age of Ultron,” December’s “In the Heart of the Sea” and the “Vacation” remake, sometime down the road.

The three-time Grammy winning Zac Brown Band is also making its first “SNL” appearance on the March episode.

Zac Brown Band has sold seven million albums to-date. The group’s three platinum-selling albums have produced an impressive 11 No. 1 singles.

This coming weekend, the NBC sketch comedy staple returns from its “SNL 40” hiatus with host Dakota Johnson from “Fifty Shades of Grey” and musical guest Alabama Shakes.

Earlier this month, “SNL 40” became a cultural and ratings phenomenon. The reunion show hauled in 23.1 million viewers, according to Nielsen.

It was also huge on social media, setting a record for the most Twitter TV impressions of any series episode to-date.

Saturday Night Live” is produced in association with Broadway Video. The creator and executive producer is Lorne Michaels.
