Chris Matthews Goes Off on Donald Trump Over Birther ‘Sin’ (Video)

Chris Matthews grilled Donald Trump over his birther crusade against President Obama, telling the GOP frontrunner it’s his “original sin.”

Speaking to Trump following the Republican presidential debate, Matthews concluded the interview by asking him whether he thinks President Obama was born in the U.S.

“Is Donald Trump honest when he says that Barack Obama isn’t a legitimate president?” Matthews asked.

Trump, like previous times he’s been asked about the subject during the campaign, refused to answer. saying he doesn’t like to talk about it because if he does “that’s all people want to talk about.”

The real estate mogul tried to change the subject but Matthews stuck with it.

“I think it’s a blemish–I think it’s your original sin. I’m an American, I think the president should be respected! I think there’s a little ethnic aspect to it, I don’t like it!”
