Good one, Chris Rock. We think.
Once-and-future Oscars host Rock waded into the Lamar Odom situation on Thursday, cracking wise about the former NBA star’s brothel binge and subsequent reconciliation with his possibly estranged wife, Khloe Kardashian of “Keeping Up With the Kardashians.”
“Here’s to Lamar Odom on being the first guy in history to have coke and hookers save his marriage,” Rock tweeted, in the form of an e-card with an accompanying old-timey graphic.
“Stay strong Lamar,” the comedian added in a caption.
The tweet was a reference to Odom being found unconscious in the Love Ranch brothel in Nevada last week after checking in for a five-day, around-the-clock spree with two employees.
According to 911 call revealed at a press conference the following day, Odom had admitted to doing cocaine prior to his arrival at the brothel, and a court document this week revealed that Odom may have been using cocaine during his stay at the brothel.
After Odom was transported from a Las Vegas hospital to Los Angeles for further treatment, court documents were filed to halt Odom and Kardashian’s pending divorce.
Twitter being Twitter, the reactions to Rock’s wisecrack drew mixed reactions, sometimes within the same response.
“Not sure if I should consider this inappropriate or hail you as a God damn genius,” read one response.
“@chrisrock +1,” one pithy endorsement read.
Yet another Twitter user took issue with Rock copyrighting his creation.
“Um, ‘© 2015 Chris Rock‘? See watermark on image,” wrote a user named Brandon Butler.
