Good news, John Legend — five years after marrying you, Chrissy Teigen still loves you.
Now the bad news…
“Lip Sync Battle” personality Teigen took to Instagram on Friday to pay sweet tribute to her husband on their fifth wedding anniversary.
Well, mostly sweet. The message ended with Teigen calling her beloved an “a–hole” for releasing news that he’s joining NBC singing show “The Voice” on Thursday, the same day that Teigen’s kitchen and tabletop collection with Target was announced.
Teigen’s message was accompanied by a photo of the couple kissing on their wedding day.
“Twelve years ago today, I met the man of my dreams. And 5 years ago today, we got married,” Teigen began the message.
“We have two babies and some pups and a life I am grateful to have. My everything, I love you and am so proud of the story we’ve created,” she added.
And then, the punchline.
“But you are an a–hole for releasing your @nbcthevoice news on my target launch day for real,” Teigen concluded.
Shortly thereafter, Legend posted his own Instagram message for the couple’s wedding anniversary.
And yes, he made sure to heartily plug Teigen’s ventures while gushing about their “wedded bliss.”
“What can I say on a day like today? I could talk about the 12 beautiful years I’ve known you. I could talk about the 5 years of wedded bliss, the 2 wonderful children we’ve brought into this world,” Legend wrote.
“But I feel the urge to say something far more important,” the singer added. “I LOVE your new kitchenware line at @Target. I can’t wait for it to come out on September 30th. I’m so proud of everything you’ve done in your career and how much joy you bring to people’s lives. Did I mention that your Cravings Cookbook is coming out Tuesday? Because it’s coming out Tuesday. I love you, baby.”
