Christian Kubsch has been named president of Method Studios, the visual-effects company said Wednesday.
Method is a 500-person division of Deluxe Entertainment Services Group and has worked on a number of high-profile projects, including "A Good Day to Die Hard," "Cloud Atlas," and upcoming films like "Iron Man 3" and “The Hunger Games: Catching Fire.” “
Kubsch will oversee Method’s global operations, which extend from its base in Los Angeles to branches in such countries as Australia and the United Kingdom. He will report to Stefan Sonnenfeld, president of creative services at Deluxe.
In addition, the company said that Darin Grant has been named chief technology officer of Method Studios, and will report to Kubsch.
Prior to joining Method, Kubsch was most recently with Prana Studios where he oversaw global production of visual effects and animation. He also had stints as executive vice president and general manager of ImageMovers Digital and as managing director of Lucasfilm Animation Company in Singapore.
Grant most recently served as technology officer at Digital Domain and previously worked as head of production technology at DreamWorks Animation.
