Michelle Knight is going to write about her 11 years being held hostage by Ariel Castro in a new memoir from Weinstein Books.

Knight, who was kidnapped at the age of 21 by  Castro, will release the book in Spring 2014. Currently untitled, the book will cover Knight’s early life, abduction, and attempt to put her days in captivity behind her.

“I want to give every victim of violence a new outlook on life,” Knight said in a statement. “Victims need to know that no matter how hard it rains in the darkness, they will have the strength and courage that God gave them when they were born to rise above and overcome any obstacle that stands in their way. If you hold your head up high and have your feet firmly on the ground, you won’t let hell consume or define how you feel inside. We shall define ourselves not as victims but as victors, and this will lead us to peace.”

Knight was one of three women held in Castro’s Cleveland, Ohio, home. One month after Castro was sentenced to life in prison, guards found he had hung himself in his cell.
