CNN’s Nonstop Ebola Coverage Skewered in Spot-On ‘Conan’ Parody (Video)

Sidekick Andy Richter’s sneeze leads to the death of “The Big Bang Theory” cast on the TBS sketch

Conan O’Brien got into the cable news game Thursday night with his own over-the-top coverage of the Ebola outbreak. The latest possible case: his sidekick Andy Richter.

In an infectiously funny parody, Richter sparks international panic after letting out a sneeze on-air. CNN suddenly interrupts the TBS late-night show with a special report about the harmless incident.

“The big story out of Burbank, California, a man has sneezed,” said fake news anchor Erica Morgan. Various videos, angles and speeds of Richter’s sneeze were then shown and analyzed.

Conan is brought in as an eyewitness and tells Morgan: “I don’t even think Andy’s sick, I mean, some of us have allergies this time of year.”

His practicality was ignored, however. A CDC rep soon announces that they are “neutralizing” the site of the sneeze by blowing up Warner Bros. Stage 25. “Conan” is not taped on Stage 25 though, “The Big Bang Theory” is.

“The cast of ‘The Big Bang’ theory has been killed, possibly by Ebola,” Morgan reports.

CNN’s own Brian Stelter seems to be a fan of the parody. He tweeted a link to the video on Twitter. Both CNN and TBS are sister networks under the Turner Broadcasting System.
