‘Colbert Report’ Penetrates Sochi’s Gay Bar (Video)

Buddy Cole’s search for the homosexuals who threaten the Winter Olympics continues

Buddy Cole is on a mission to get to the bottom — or the top — of Sochi’s gay threat.

“Just to get the story, I bit the bullet…and some other stuff,” “The Colbert Report” correspondent told Stephen Colbert on Thursday’s show. “I managed to penetrate Sochi’s gay underground.”

Russian leader Vladimir Putin attracted controversy earlier this year after he passed a series of stringent anti-gay laws that criminalize certain forms of gay protests. But Cole discovered that those legal measures might not have gone far enough to stop the gays.

A Google search turned up Club Mayak, a gay bar that is a curling sheet away from the Winter Olympics. That had Cole commiserating with the owner of the club about the United States’ treatment of homosexuals.

“In the states things have gotten very bad for the gays,” Cole said. “All they’re doing is marrying each other bare foot on the beach and adopting little Chinese girls. It’s a nightmare situation.”

After spending time in Club Mayak, Cole reports he was getting gay propagandized from every direction. The threat is real.
