Robert Schimmel, the edgy standup comic who was a regular guest on Howard Stern andConan O'Brien, has died after a car accident in the Phoenix area. He was 60.
Schimmel died Friday in the hospital, according to his publicist, HowardBragman.
Schimmel's daughter, 19-year-old daughter Aliyah, was driving on the freeway Thursday night when she swerved to avoid another car and rolled. She was hospitalized in stable condition.
Schimmel survived a bout with non-Hodgkin's lymphoma, and published a memoir in 2008, "Cancer on $5 a Day."
