‘Community’ Says Goodbye to Donald Glover: Look Back on Troy’s Funniest Moments (Video)

Thursday’s episode signified the end for the NBC comedy’s bromantic jock-turned-geek

Donald Glover resisted the call of solo fame for four seasons and five episodes of NBC’s “Community” before he couldn’t resist it any longer.

Thursday’s episode, titled “Geothermal Escapism,” was Glover’s – and thus his bromantic jock-turned-geek character Troy – last hurrah on the Greendale campus.

The actor is dedicating more time to his music – under the pseudonym “Childish Gambino” – and he’s developing a music comedy project for FX, which he’ll both star in and executive produce.

The series gave him an appropriately raucous goodbye with an awesome school-wide game of the “Hot Lava,” which then turned into a very emotional sendoff.

“It is epic. It is an adventure,” Danny Pudi, who plays Troy’s best bud Abed, told TheWrap. “It’s something that only Abed and Troy would put together for their final day on campus together. Everyone takes part, like anything, the school really commits.”

But, the adios wouldn’t be complete without a look back at Troy’s funniest moments. They include multiple freak-outs, plenty of costumes, a fascination with backsides (and penises) and, of course, plenty of Abed.

“Community” airs Thursdays at 8/7c on NBC.
