Conan O’Brien is making it clear: He doesn’t want to host "The Tonight Show" — at 12:05 a.m.
The NBC late-night host issued a statement saying he’s against NBC’s proposal to put him behind an 11:35 Jay Leno show, a person familiar with the matter said.
But he isn’t saying he’s quitting. (MoJoe says here that NBC should cut him loose).
NBC isn’t commenting on its own employee’s statement, but did confirm that O’Brien is still scheduled to host "Tonight" tonight.

Should O’Brien opt to leave the Peacock network, his options just got more limited on Tuesday.
ABC chief Steve McPherson announced at TCA that his network is happy with its current late night lineup and won’t try to woo the host if he decides to bolt "Tonight."
