Conservative Radio Host on Fox: Obama’s Gun-Control Plan ‘Un-American,’ ‘Fascistic’ (Video)

Mark Levin was enraged by President Obama's executive order on guns

Conservative radio host Mark Levin was among the first pundits to go on television slamming President Obama's executive orders on gun control.

Fox NewsLevin told Fox News host Neil Cavuto that Obama's orders were "un-American" and "fascistic," keeping with the president's prediction at a press conference earlier Wednesday that pundits would try to "gin up fear or higher ratings" for themselves.

"There are some things in his executive orders that are un-American, in some ways they're even fascistic," Levin said.

That kicked off a tirade in which the lawyer and commentator questioned one provision in Obama's orders that allows doctors to ask patients about firearms in their homes. A clause in the Affordable Care Act, quietly negotiated by the National Rifle Association, states that patients "shall not be required" to disclose gun ownership to their physicians.

"Doctors are private citizens," Levin said. "Do we really want doctors reporting to the federal government if they think somebody might have violent tendencies? Do we really want to discourage people who have mental health issues, or people bringing them to see their doctor, because they become part of a national law enforcement database?"

Two days ago, Levin appeared on a Fox's "America Live with Megyn Kelly" and called Obama an "imperial" president, whose expected gun control orders would violate the Constitution.

"I'm not into imperial presidents who act imperial and speak imperial," he said at the time. "Obama forgets there's a Constitution."
