Ratings: Univision’s Copa America Final Defeats ABC’s Game Show Debuts

Disney broadcaster still tops primetime in total viewers

At least, that’s how last night shook out in Nielsen TV ratings across the key 18-49 demographic. ABC did manage to win Sunday in total viewers, airing three game show premieres.

Univision scored its rare demo victory thanks to the Copa America final, which saw Chile defeating Argentina on penalty kicks.

Univision was first in ratings with a 1.7 rating/6 share in the advertiser-coveted 18-49 demographic, but fourth in total viewers with an average of 4 million, according to preliminary numbers.

ABC was second in ratings with a 1.3/5 and first in viewers with 6.6 million. Following a rerun, “Celebrity Family Feud” at 8 p.m. ET received a 1.5/6 and 7.8 million viewers. At 9, “The $100,000 Pyramid” earned a 1.7/5 and 8 million viewers. “Match Game” at 10 posted a 1.5/5 and 6.7 million viewers.

NBC was third in ratings with a 1.1/4 and second in viewers with 4.6 million. At 7 p.m. ET, the Olympic Diving Trials had a 0.7/3 and 3.5 million viewers. At 8, the Swimming Trials Finals got a 1.0/4 and 4.4 million viewers. The Women’s U.S. Gymnastics Championship at 9 received a 1.3/4 and 5.3 million viewers.

CBS was fourth in ratings with a 0.7/3 and third in viewers with 4.4 million. At 7 p.m. ET, “60 Minutes” had a 0.8/3 and 7.3 million viewers. “Big Brother” at 8 got a 1.5/5 and 5.4 million viewers. Following a rerun, “American Gothic” at 10 received a 0.3/1 and 2 million viewers.

Fox was fifth in ratings with a 0.5/2 and in viewers with 1.3 million, airing all repeats.

Telemundo was sixth in ratings with a 0.3/1 and in viewers with 993,000.
