Former child actor Corey Feldman has sought a restraining order against “a group of individuals” who’ve posted “threatening messages” to him on social media, Feldman’s attorney told TheWrap on Tuesday.

According to Feldman’s attorney, Perry Wander, Feldman “has a genuine fear of credible violence against him.”

“Corey Feldman under the advice of the Los Angeles Police Department Threat Management Unit (TMU) filed a request with the Los Angeles Superior Court for a restraining order for civil harassment against a group of individuals that have been stalking and threatening him by planting fake news and posting threatening messages to him on social media,” Wander said in a statement. “Mr. Feldman has a genuine fear of credible violence against him which necessitated the criminal complaint and launched the criminal investigation and LAPD recommendation to seek a restraining order.”

Wander added, “Evidence uncovered during the investigation has uncovered a broad-based conspiracy to discredit Mr. Feldman in his efforts to champion victims of sexual abuse.”

Wander did not elaborate further on the specific nature of the threats. However, TMZ reported Monday that Feldman believes that multiple Twitter accounts have harassed him, with one tweet reading, “If longing to see @Corey_Feldman get gangraped in prison is wrong, I don’t want to be right.”

Meanwhile, in an Instagram message, a user commented, “Corey is a rapist” 17 times, TMZ said.

TheWrap has reached out to the Los Angeles Police Department for comment

On Tuesday, Feldman tweeted, I will take all necessary action” to protect his family.

“THE HEAT IS ON: AS I STATED I WOULD NOT TAKE BEING ATTACKED, STALKED, TERRORIZED, & SLANDERED 4 TRYING 2 GET THE TRUTH OUT!” Feldman tweeted. “I WILL TAKE ALL NECESSARY ACTION 2 PROTECT MY FAMILY, HELP ABOLISH THE STATUTE, & DELIVER THE #TRUTH @ SOME POINT SOON AS PROMISED!”

While TMZ reported that four Twitter accounts had allegedly harassed Feldman, the actor added Tuesday, “THERE R ACTUALLY MANY MORE THAN 4 ACCOUNTS BEING LOOKED AT. AGAIN THE PRESS GETS IT 70% CORRECT. IN ACTUALITY THERE R MULTIPLE USERS BEING INVESTIGATED W MULTIPLE ACCOUNTS EACH..U KNOW WHO U R, & SO DO THE @LAPD NOW. THANK U AGAIN 2 ALL WHO HAV [sic] SUPPORTED! ”

In March, Feldman alleges that he was stabbed by a “wolfpack,” and that the Los Angeles Police Department was investigating the alleged attack as an “attempted homicide.”

An LAPD Media Relations officer told TheWrap that the incident was reported at 10:45 p.m. on March 27. According to the report, the incident happened on the corner of Reseda and Ventura boulevards, where an unknown man approached the driver’s side door of Feldman’s vehicle and opened it, making a “jabbing move to [Feldman’s] stomach.”

Feldman transported himself to the hospital where they found “no lacerations on his stomach,” the officer told us.
