The "Glee" actor was found dead in his hotel room on Saturday at age 31

A spokeswoman for the BC Coroner's Office told TheWrap on Sunday that it is gathering information regarding the death of "Glee" star Cory Monteith, who was found dead in his Vancouver, British Columbia hotel room at age 31.

The spokeswoman told TheWrap that the coroner's office is gathering information on "remote and recent history" to determine what post-mortem testing needs to be done.

Monteith, who played Finn Hudson on the popular Fox series, was found dead in a room at the Fairmont Pacific Rim Hotel in downtown Vancouver after he missed his check-out time. He was 31.

The actor, who had a history of struggles with substance abuse, had entered rehab earlier this year.

Monteith had checked into the hotel on July 6 and was expected to check out on Saturday. According to the Vancouver police department, there were other people in the room with the actor on Friday night, but video and fob key entries indicate that the actor returned to his room early Saturday morning, and it is believed that Monteith was alone when he died.
