‘Crazy Ex-Girlfriend,’ ‘iZombie’ Get Additional-Episode Orders From CW

Rose McIver-led zombie drama tapped for six additional episodes while Rachel Bloom’s musical gets five

The CW is doubling down on its freshman musical dramedy “Crazy Ex-Girlfriend” and sophomore zombie comic book adaptation “iZombie” by ordering additional episodes of each show.

The network previously ordered five more scripts of each show prior to their premieres.

“iZombie,” which is getting six additional episodes bringing the total to 19 for Season 2, is described as a “zom-dram-rom-com” and follows Rose McIver as Liv, a med student who woke up as a zombie during the pilot, and has spent the past season investigating murders thanks to intel from the brains she was consuming to stay alive.

Rob Thomas created and executive produces the show along with Diane Ruggiero. The show airs Tuesdays at 9 p.m. ET.

“Crazy Ex” features YouTube star Rachel Bloom as a successful lawyer who gives up her career to move to West Covina, California after bumping into an old boyfriend. The series is getting five additional episodes, for a total of 18.

Bloom also serves as an executive producer on the show along with Aline Brosh McKenna. “Crazy Ex” airs at 9 p.m. ET on Mondays.
