After pranking SiriusXM listeners last year, Howard Stern really did hand off one of his channels to Andy Cohen on Tuesday. But, the passing of the baton came with one specific request: “gay antics.”
In a video posted to Instagram on Tuesday morning, Stern and Cohen laughed at their prank from 2025, in which they convinced listeners that Stern’s contract hadn’t been renewed, so Cohen was taking over Howard 100. Now, thanks to Stern’s new deal with the company and a new streaming deal with HBO Max, he really is decreasing his output to one show per week, freeing up station 101 for Cohen.
“No, you are not being pranked,” Stern assured. “And Andy has been gracious enough to take over 101, and I have one request. Please continue the tradition of doing a lot of gay antics because, you know — “
“Well, your show’s gayer than mine,” Cohen immediately cut in.
Stern jokingly agreed, and encouraged the Bravo host to “up the gay” on his own show.
On Monday, SiriusXM announced that a new season of “The Howard Stern Show” will begin on September 14. But, in addition to broadcasting on SiriusXM, Stern’s show will also begin streaming on HBO Max beginning September 17.
So, listeners can hear new episodes on Mondays, or watching them on the streamer every Thursday.
