CW Launching Saturday Morning Family Programming Block in October

The network will air 10 new live-action series in partnership with Litton Entertainment, including family edition of “Dog Whisperer”

The CW will expand its original programming to Saturday mornings with a new family programming block titled “One Magnificent Morning.”

In partnership with Litton Entertainment, the network will air 10 live-action shows on Saturdays from 7 a.m. to noon starting Oct. 4.

“We’re very excited to work with Litton Entertainment for a new Saturday morning block of live-action, educational shows that both children and parents will love,” said The CW’s executive vice president, John Maatta in a statement. “‘One Magnificent Morning’ is a terrific addition to The CW’s Saturday lineup.”

The programs are currently made up of programs focusing on nature and animals, including a family edition “Dog Whisperer With Cesar Millan.

Litton Entertainment currently provides Saturday morning programming to ABC and CBS.

The CW described several of the new Saturday morning shows in Thursday’s announcement, with more to be announced at a later date.
