The CW will not renew “Reign” after its upcoming fourth season, TheWrap has learned.
The Adelaide Kane-led period drama is currently in production, so they are working on a series finale, which will give the fans a conclusion to the story of Mary Queen of Scots.
The current season is 16 episodes, which means the series finale will air in or around mid-June.
“Reign” will join “The Vampire Diaries” as long-running CW series ending this year. The vampire drama will end after its 8th season, with the series finale set for March.
The show returns for its final season in midseason, along with fellow returning series “The Originals,” “The 100” and “iZombie,” as well as new drama “Riverdale.”
