D23 Expo: Christina Hendricks, Tom Hiddleston Sprinkled in New ‘Tinker Bell’ Movies

Stars join sixth film in Tinker Bell homevideo series, set for 2014 release

Christina Hendricks and Tom Hiddleston will lend their voices to "The Pirate Fairy," one of two new Tinker Bell movies Disney unveiled Friday at its D23 Expo in Anaheim. Hendricks will voice Zarina, the main character in "Pirate Fairy"; Hiddleston will voice James the Cabin Boy — aka the young Captain Hook. The feature-length animated film is due in 2014.

Hiddleston, beloved by Disney fans already thanks to his performance as Loki in "The Avengers," professed his early love for "The Jungle Book" and his spiritual kinship with Baloo before breaking into song/

The new films extend the lucrative straight-to-homevideo franchise that the "Peter Pan" fairy has become — worldwide sales for five "Tinker Bell" DVDs and Blu Rays has exceeded $180 million worldwide.

Previous Tink titles include “Tinker Bell” (2008), “Tinker Bell and the Lost Treasure” (2009), “Tinker Bell and the Great Fairy Rescue” (2010), “Pixie Hollow Games” (2011) and “Secret of the Wings” (2012).
